Marigold – Day Of The Dead

Every year in Mexico they celebrate Dia De Muertos – Day Of The Dead

They believe that for one night the spirits of their loved ones come back to visit them

In order for the spirits to do this the living must invite them

Alters are made and upon them are pictures of the deceased. Candles are lit and food is also provided for them

The Marigold is also placed here.

The flower is the symbol of grief

It is believed that the strong sweet smell will attract the spirits back
